Happy 100th Birthday, Oreos
The Oreo turns 100 today, a milestone worthy of celebration and a little bit of awe. More than 490 billion Oreos have been sold since it was invented in New York City way back in 1912, along the way sparking endless debates as to how to eat them (do you break them apart, eat them whole, lick the creme off…), if the flavor should ever deviate from the basic chocolate (such as the Green Tea version in Japan), whether Double Stuff is a superior approach to the filling-to-cookie ratio quandry (of course it is!)—the discussions are endless.
Happy Birthday from the Hamptons to “milk’s favorite cookie.” We love you, but we’ll still go with Tate’s Chocolate Chip Cookies any day of the week!
