Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand Rock Kiss for Ages
The ’80s-music love fest that is Rock of Ages won’t hit theatres until Friday, but its Hollywood premiere last week has already sparked a most-talked-about scene—featuring Alec Baldwin and his onscreen kiss with costar Russell Brand.
The press couldn’t help but to ask if the kiss was meant to put some focus on the homosexual community, which is currently at the center of a number of political debates, but Baldwin told The Hollywood Reporter, “It’s not like Brokeback Mountain, it’s not two leading men who you are used to getting down with some gorgeous young girl.” The actor added, “We’re in a fully realized age of equality in all things and it’s not surprising or new.”
Funnyman Russell Brand did tell E! News that their kiss was indeed “sexy because Alec is a very sexy man.” Yet the kiss may very well end up being the last thing on people’s minds once they are blinded by the star-studded cast that, in addition to Baldwin and Russell, includes Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Mary J. Blige.
