Perry Burns Art Opening Reception
June 30, 6–8 p.m., 688 Montauk Highway, Water Mill
This exhibition, “Heads of State,” views politics in a whole new way. The pieces included in this collection are far from the artist’s abstract work and are said to be a progression on his new photojournalistic style, a style that only began to take shape last year.
InsidersOutsiders, Mary Heilmann and Friends Opening Reception
June 30, 6–8 p.m., Ashawagh Hall, 851 Springs Fireplace Rd., East Hampton
The Fireplace Project, a contemporary art gallery in East Hamtpon, presents this exhibition featuring the works of Don Christensen, Sabra Moon Elliot, Roy Fowler, Mary Heilmann, Rick Liss, David Reed, Ned Smyth, Mike Solomon, Claudia Spinelli, Stephen Westfall and Steve White. This will be the first time that “InsidersOutsides, Mary Heilmann and Friends” is presented at The Fireplace Project.
Christian Haub and Rory MacArthur Opening Reception
June 30, 6–8 p.m., Kathryn Markel Fine Arts, 2416 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton
Kathryn Markel Fine Arts will be presenting new paintings by Rory MacArthur and Christian Haub, two artists who come together to create an exhibition that highlights the manipulation of color in order to create abstract space through two very different methods.
Jenna Lash “Portrayed” Art Exhibition Opening
July 1, Bego Ezair Gallery, 136 Main Street, Southampton
For the first time in the Hamptons, you will be able to see the works of Jenna Lash. Having already had shows in locales from New York City and Switzerland, Lash’s work is gaining in popularity with each showing. This exhibition includes pieces from her two previous shows: “Imagined Memories,” which focuses on the artists’ ties to her family and the past, and “Art of Money,” a collection that explores globalization and the reliance on each country’s currency.
