Weekend Treat: Friday Night Outdoor Movies in the Hamptons

Once was a time when a Friday summer night meant pulling into a parking spot not in a multiplex or even behind a movie theater, but in a lot where, rising up before you, was an enormous movie screen that would, once you settled in, transport you into a magical world not ever equaled by the traditional silver-screen experience.

Drive-in theaters are, sadly, a memory of summers past, but the outdoor movie experience lives on in the Hamptons. This Friday night, bring a blanket and be ready for blasts from the big-screen past with E.T. at Mulford Farm in East Hampton, and Marathon Man as part of Films on the Haywall at Silas Marder Gallery in Bridgehampton.
