Ammon Twins Screen 59 Middle Lane in NYC
Twins Greg and Alexa Ammon, adopted children of murdered investment banker Ted Ammon, are screening their film 59 Middle Lane at a benefit for the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute and Jazz at Lincoln Center in Manhattan on Thursday.
The film is named for the tony East Hampton address where Ammon was killed on October 20, 2001. The murder became a worldwide spectacle while police, the media and the public watched the case unfold. Eventually it was revealed that Generosa Ammon, Ted’s wife, had an ongoing affair with Center Moriches contractor and con Daniel Pelosi, who was convicted in December 2004 for bludgeoning Ammon to death.
Generosa died of breast cancer shortly before Pelosi’s conviction, leaving her adopted twins and their father’s $97 million fortune in the care of their nanny.
Self financed by the Ammon twins, 59 Middle Lane premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival this summer, but it does not yet have a distributor.
Ted Ammon was the chairman of Jazz at Lincoln Center.
The screening is at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street in Manhattan. Tickets are $1,000 through the jazz organization.
