OLD 37: Horror Movie Shooting in the Hamptons
OLD 37, a psychological thriller/slasher film about two brothers who pose as paramedics and intercept 911 calls in a retired ambulance began shooting in East Hampton, Southampton and Hampton Bays on Saturday, November 17th.
Production wraps on December 15.
The film stars Kane Hodder, who played Jason Voorhees in four of the Friday the 13th films, and Bill Moseley of Rob Zombie’s horror films The Devil’s Rejects and House of 1000 Corpses, as twisted brothers working together to exact revenge on careless teen drivers who could be responsible for their mother’s hit-and-run death.
The cast also includes Brandi Cyrus of “Hannah Montana” and “Zoey 101,” Caitlin Harris from “Secret Life of the American Teenager,” Olivia Alexander (Attack of the 50ft Cheerleader and Killer Eye), Maxwell Zagorski (the face of Abercrombie & Fitch), Ben Schneider, Mindy White of the bands States and Lydia, and Sascha Knopf (Shallow Hal, Expiration Date), as well as a performance by 6-piece Australian band Sheppard.
From Big Picture Media, OLD 37 is written and produced by Paul Travers and directed and edited by three-time Emmy-winning editor Christian Winters, with special effects by Brian Spears. According to a release from producing partner Dayna Ghiraldi, the “fast paced and blood soaked,” OLD 37 taps into the most basic human fear—vulnerability. “The words ‘don’t worry I’m a paramedic’ will make you think twice before dialing 911,” similar to what Jaws did to make people fear going into the water.
