Will Billy Joel Spend New Year’s in Sin City?

Rumors are spreading that Sag Harbor‘s resident Piano Man, Billy Joel, has agreed to play some New Year’s concerts at the Wynn Hotel & Casino’s Encore Theater in Las Vegas, according to Robin Leach of The Las Vegas Sun.

It was also reported that Steve Wynn, the casino’s owner, is asking Joel to consider a residency at the Encore Theater, possibly similar to that of Joel’s friend Garth Brooks, who had a three-year residency deal with Wynn.

Joel’s next performance is the December 12 Hurricane Sandy benefit at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan with Amagansett’s Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and fellow Hamptonite Jon Bon Jovi.

The Vegas shows would be Joel’s first concerts for profit in quite a while.
