Bush Family Supports FEED with Designer Bears
Hamptons resident, designer and philanthropist Lauren Pierce Bush Lauren and her mother Sharon Bush unveiled and auctioned limited edition designer FEED bears at J. McLaughlin store on Lexington Avenue in Manhattan on Thursday, December 6.
The unique bears from Sharon Bush’s Teddy Share line of plush bears for charity were dressed by A-list designers, including Diane Von Furstenberg, Rebecca Taylor, Stacy Bendet and others, and were available for guests to bid on at the invite-only event. All proceeds went to the FEED Foundation’s NYC relief fund to help victims of Superstorm Sandy.
Bush Lauren (who is the niece of President George W. Bush and daughter in-law of designer Ralph Lauren) was also joined by her sister Ashley Bush, philanthropist Jean Shafiroff and longtime Saturday Night Live commercial parody producer/director James Signorelli.
The FEED Foundation, cofounded by Board Chairman Lauren Bush Lauren, supports programs and organizations that are effectively working to fight hunger and eliminate malnutrition throughout the world.
Each bear sold through Teddy Share supports children’s causes around the world. The bears give joy and companionship to their owners, while also offering vital support to children in need. Teddy Share bears teach the value of sharing by example, making the world a better place—one bear at a time.
