Madonna has Top-Grossing Tour of 2012

Water Mill renter and pop star Madonna had the highest grossing tour of 2012. Her sold out MDNA tour earned an estimated $228.4 million in ticket sales, which nearly doubled younger pop sensation Lady Gaga‘s Born This Way Ball tour, which sold a total of $124.9 million in tickets, according to the New York Daily News.

Supporting Madonna‘s 12th studio album of the same name, MDNA was the 54-year-old icon’s ninth world tour. The Hamptons part-timer will finish the tour in South America.

The singer finished her tour in South America over the weekend, following 80-plus performances since May.
