Robert Caro’s “Passage of Power” Among Best Books of 2012
Lyndon Johnson the Passage of Power, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Robert Caro’s fourth volume in his “The Years of Lyndon Johnson” series, was chosen in the December 24 issue of Time magazine as the number-two nonfiction book of 2012. The book covers Johnson’s time as Vice President and his sudden ascent to the role of Commander and Chief after John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1962.
Caro’s book followed number-one nonfiction selection Iron Curtain by Anne Applebaum.
Along with his accomplishments as an author—which include The Power Broker, Lyndon Johnson The Path To Power, Lyndon Johnson Means of Ascent and Lyndon Johnson Master of the Senate—Caro was also the Honorary Chair of the 2012 Dan’s Papers Literary Prize for Nonfiction.
