Shellabration Begins this Weekend in Greenport
Starting at noon on Saturday, the Village of Greenport becomes ground zero for shellfish and wine lovers.
The two-day “Shellabration” restaurant walk is a unique opportunity to enjoy the ultra-fresh shellfish pulled from up from Peconic Bay. Between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (December 8-9), participants will wander the village streets, from restaurant to restaurant, sampling the very best culinary creations from Greenport’s leading chefs. Nearly a dozen local restaurants will offer $5 tapas-sized portions of their finest local shellfish creations.
To wash it down, local wineries and vineyards will also offer $3 pairings with some of the North Fork’s finest wines. The bounty of the region will come together in a delicious culinary walk that celebrates the recent regeneration of Peconic Bay.
The afternoon starts with some early suds at Greenport Harbor Brewing Company (234 Carpenter Street), Shellabration’s official starting point. Wristbands will be given at Greenport Harbor Brewing, but they must be purchased ahead of time online here.
Participating restaurants include:
Biere, Butta Cakes, Bruce’s Café, Cuvee Wine Bar, First and South, The Frisky Oyster, Front Street Station, Noah’s, North Fork Oyster Company and Scrimshaw.
Participating vineyards include:
Castello di Borghese, Lieb Cellars, Macari Vineyards, One Woman Wines, Osprey’s Dominion, Peconic Bay Winery, Raphael, Shinn Estate Vineyards and Sparkling Pointe.
Enjoy the day!
