Barbara Walters Hospitalized After Fall
Hamptons resident and grand dame of TV journalism Barbara Walters was hospitalized in Washington after falling on some stairs and cutting her head on Saturday evening.
The 83-year-old ABC News interviewer and host of The View was injured during a visit to the British ambassador‘s Washington residence, according to CNN.com. Walters‘ injury appears to be relatively minor, but she was taken to the hospital for treatment and observation “Out of an abundance of caution,” CNN reports. The journalist was unable to contribute to Sunday and Monday’s presidential inauguration festivities, as planned, but Walters was reportedly alert and ordering people around, and she is expected to fully recover.
