Datta Phuge, a 32-year-old money lender—from the appropriately named town of Pimpri-Chinchwad in central India—had his jeweler make this gold shirt and matching rings and wristbands to help him with the ladies. “I know I am not the best looking man in the world but surely no woman could fail to be dazzled by this shirt?” he said.
The shirt, comprising 3.5 kilograms of gold, took more than 15 goldsmiths 16 hours per day to create. It cost $230,000, which is over one crore (10 million) rupees.
