Guitars Released to Benefit Pollock-Krasner House
In honor of legendary East End painter Jackson Pollock‘s birthday on Monday, the Pollock-Krasner House has announced the release of two limited edition guitars featuring the artist’s signature drips and splatters.
Sales of the Jackson Pollock Studio Guitar and Jackson Pollock Studio Bass (from Waterstone Musical Instruments of Nashville) will benefit the Pollock-Krasner House & Study Center in Springs.
The announcement for these new guitars explains how Pollock‘s painting style has inspired musicians in a diverse range of genres, including rapper Lil Wayne and British rockers The Stone Roses, among others. “Now musical artists can tap directly into Pollock’s energy…” the announcement says.
Each instrument retails for $1,500, including a hardshell case and a certificate of authenticity. For more information and to order, visit pollockguitar.com.
This is the second Pollock-themed product using images of the painter’s drips. Jackson Pollock Crocs were released last year in recognition of the artist’s 100th birthday. The Jackson Pollock Studio Clog is sold out on the Crocs website and does not appear to be available anywhere online. The rubber shoes retailed for $39.99.
