Hamptons Stars Are 3:2 at PGA Awards

Russell Simmons was honored with a Producers Guild of America Visionary Award at Saturday’s PGA Awards in Beverly Hills, but it was a mixed bag for his fellow Hamptons celebs.
East Hampton director Steven Spielberg‘s biopic Lincoln lost the PGA Award for Best Picture to Ben Affleck‘s Argo, adding another pre-Oscars, award-season loss to the Team Hamptons scorecard.
Hamptons regular Bryant Gumbel won a PGA in the Outstanding Sports Program category for HBO‘s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.
Alec Baldwin‘s 30-Rock lost Best TV Comedy Series to Modern Family, but 30 Rock: The Webisodes on nbc.com redeemed the show—and once again proved it is operating ahead of the curve—by winning Best Web Series.
30-Rock‘s 2-hour special final episode airs on NBC this Thursday, January 31 at 8 p.m. South O’ the Highway will deeply morn this endless source of Alec Baldwin news and video clips.
In the major categories, Team Hamptons finishes 3:2, if you include Simmons‘ Visionary Award. Unfortunately, the Oscars don’t honor television. Let’s hope Lincoln does better with the Academy voters.
