Help Make "Montauk" the Film on Kickstarter

Brooklyn filmmaker Vinz Feller is seeking funding for his upcoming short film Montauk, about an older widow on a strange journey from Switzerland to Montauk, the place where she met her husband 40 years prior.
The film already has actors on board and it has funding grants from the Swiss government. Feller has also exceeded his most recent $7,500 budget goal through donations from 47 backers on the fundraising site Kickstarter.com. But he’s accepting donations through February 13, which could make the movie even better. Feller‘s Kickstarter page explains the film—including a short video with storyboards and narration by the actors—and offers backers everything from DVD copies of Montauk, to dinner with him and the cast, and even an executive producer credit for anyone willing to pledge $2,000.
Swiss actor Linda Geiser and American Paul Calderon have already committed to roles in Montauk. Geiser, who plays the widow, has 50 years of acting experience in Switzerland and the United States, though she is best known for her role as Johanna on Lüthi und Blanc, a Swiss television series. Calderon, who plays a Latino day laborer in Montauk, is recognizable from many films, including Pulp Fiction, Bad Lieutenant, Girlfight and Q & A, as well as CBS‘ hit television series Blue Bloods.
Montauk explores the difficult and painful process of grief, following the widow (Geiser) on her rather bizarre journey from Switzerland all the way to Montauk. In denial about having lost the love of her life, she has a chance encounter with an older Latino day laborer (Calderon) and realizes that she is not alone in her pain.
Kickstarter support will cover necessities like equipment rental, location fees, food and amenities, props, airfare (the film is shooting on two continents, with three days in Montauk and one day in Switzerland) and basic post production needs such as editing, color correction and an audio mix.
Vinz Feller is an accomplished director, having won many awards for his work including mentions from the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures (NBR), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Swiss Department of Cultural Affairs. His films have been screened at numerous film festivals worldwide.
