Rachael Ray and ASPCA Begin $100K Challenge

Southampton’s Rachael Ray has teamed up with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for the 2013 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. Ray and the ASPCA will award $600,000 in prize grants to help shelters save cats and dogs. For more information, visit Challenge.ASPCApro.org.
Ray, a staunch supporter of animal causes, donated $500,000 to the ASPCA in November to help families and pets affected by SuperStorm Sandy. At that time, her pet food company, Nutrish, also donated four tons of dog food to needy pets.
Other Hamptons stars who publicly support the ASPCA include Martha Stewart and Debra Messing.
Ray is also the founder of Rachael’s Rescue, a website to highlight organizations dedicated to helping animals in need. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of her Nutrish pet products will go to animal organizations, including the ASPCA, the North Shore Animal League and others listed on Rachael’s Rescue.
