Trump Snipe May Cost Bill Maher $5 Million

Bill Maher is the funny man, but Donald Trump may have gotten the last laugh.

During an episode of the The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on January 7, Maher and Leno talked politics, and Maher made a few jabs at Hamptons billionaire visitor Donald Trump. In mocking Trump’s hair color, Maher urged Trump to prove that he is not the “spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan” by showing his birth certificate. To sweeten the pot, Maher stated that he would throw in a cool $5 million to be donated to a charity of Trump’s choice. Maher suggested “Hair Club for Men” or the “Institute for Incorrigible Douchebaggery.” The offer was clearly meant to poke fun at Trump’s earlier YouTube proposal to President Obama, but unlike the President, Trump has apparently made good on Maher’s offer. In a letter obtained by Yahoo, Trump’s lawyer, Scott S. Balber, writes:

Dear Mr. Maher:

I represent Mr. Donald J. Trump. I write on his behalf to accept your offer (made during the Jay Leno Show on January 7, 2013) that Mr. Trump prove he is not the “spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.”

Attached hereto is a copy of Mr. Trump’s birth certificate, demonstrating that he is the son of Fred Trump, not an orangutan. Please remit the $5 million to Mr. Trump immediately and he will ensure that the money be donated to the following five charities in equal amounts: Hurricane Sandy Victims, The Police Athletic League, The American Cancer Society, The March of Dimes, and The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
