Contemporary French artist Hubert Duprat explores the adaptive nature of caddis fly larvae, which use any available material to create protective casings. In his ongoing project The Wonderful Caddis Worm: Sculptural Work in Collaboration with Trichoptera, Duprat involves himself in the construction of the protective case of the caddis fly by making only very specific materials available. The result is, literally, pure gold.
