Matthew Broderick Breaks Character to Scold Fan

Hamptons resident Matthew Broderick broke the fourth wall during a performance of Nice Work If You Can Get It on Broadway Friday to admonish a fan for filming the show.
New York Post reports the actor broke character after noticing an audience member filming him from the front row. A rep for Broderick told the Page Six that he would “not tolerate people filming or shooting pictures.” He also confirmed that the obnoxious would-be director stopped filming without further incident after Broderick addressed the issue.
Broderick is an original cast member of Nice Work If You Can Get It. The Tony Award-winning musical comedy has been open since April 24, 2012. The play has an open run at Broadway‘s Imperial Theatre, located at 249 West 45th Street.
