Poet Major Jackson Kicks Off Writers Speak

Writers Speak Wednesdays are back!
Presented by Stony Brook Southampton‘s MFA in Creative Writing and Literature program, the popular series of author talks begins on Wednesday, February 13 with an evening of poetry from Major Jackson.
Jackson is an American poet, professor and author of three collections of poetry. His latest collections, Holding Company (W.W. Norton, 2010) and Hoops (W.W. Norton, 2006), were both finalists for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literature-Poetry. Jackson‘s first collection, Leaving Saturn (University of Georgia, 2002), won the 2001 Cave Canem Poetry Prize and was a finalist for a National Book Critics Award Circle.
Writers Speak begins Wednesday, February 13 at 7 p.m. in the Radio Lounge at Stony Brook Southampton.
