It has been just over a month since North Haven resident and Arbitrage actor Richard Gere received the Chairman’s Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards gala on January 5. Gere recently lost the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama to Daniel-Day Lewis, who won for his role as the 16th president in Steven Spielberg‘s Lincoln.
To make things worse, the local actor was expected to snatch an Oscar nod for his role in Arbitrage, but he was left on the “snubbed” list instead. Let’s hope Gere lands another role that shows off his talent in time for next year’s awards season.
The 85th Academy Awards air at 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 24.
