Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue on Stands

On newsstands today, the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue features Kate Upton on its cover for the second straight year.
Upton was chosen as “Rookie of the Year” in 2011, the first time she appeared in the fabled annual publication, and she landed her first cover in 2012. This year, the Swimsuit Issue includes 17 models photographed in gorgeous locales around the world. Wainscott resident and former SI editor Fred Smith first devised and published the Swimsuit Issue nearly 50 years ago, and even with all that history, some are saying the 2013 issue may be the best ever.
The models were photographed in all seven continents, in locations including the frigid Antarctic, dunes in Africa and cliffs of Asia. Upton‘s cover shot shows the model wearing a fur-lined jacket and white bikini bottom—and nothing else—in Antarctica. The issue also includes a section of beauties wearing only body paint made to look like the latest sexy swimsuit designs, and it attempts to reach female readers with a new six-page Style Guide featuring beauty and makeup tips and interviews.
