If you are interested in going to Mars, here is your chance.

A plan to launch the first manned mission to Mars in 2018 is in place, and yes, anybody can volunteer and Dennis Tito, a zillionaire from Queens, wants you to bring your wife. The plan is to fly two people to Mars and then bring them back. There will be no Mars walking however, you just get to swing by the red planet.

Tito is going to buy a space capsule on the open market and then have two people, a male and a female, climb in and rocket out into space for 501 days. He says that ideally, the couple will be married.

You’ve all heard of the mile high club right? Well who of you here have joined the 140 million-mile-high club?

Anyone? Anyone? Didn’t think so.

Mr. Tito, who has been to space himself, was quoted on space.com saying, “When you’re out that far and the Earth is a tiny, blue pinpoint, you’re going to need someone you can hug. What better solution to the psychological problems you’re going to encounter with that isolation?”

Well stated, Mr. Tito.

Who here in the Hamptons would volunteer for such a mission? Need to get away from it all?
