Blue Duck Makes "Otterly Yummy" Cupcake

Blue Duck Bakery Cafe in Riverhead is offering a commemorative “Otterly Yummy” peanut butter and jelly cupcake starting tomorrow, Tuesday March 19. The new cupcake was created in honor of four river otter pups that were recently born to proud parents “PB” and “J” (Peanut Butter and Jelly) at the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Riverhead Foundation to help preserve and protect the marine environment through education, rescue, rehabilitation and research.

The cupcakes will feature vanilla cake with grape jelly and peanut butter icing, and will be available only in Blue Duck‘s Riverhead store through April 15, according to bakery owner Nancy Kouris. They will sell for $3.50 each with $1 being donated to the Riverhead Foundation. A photograph of the “prototype” is pictured above, but the final product may appear slightly different on Tuesday.
