Even God Summers in The Hamptons

Manhattan‘s elite have long been known to bring the comforts of city life to their South Fork summer homes, but this may be the first time God has been packed along with chefs, designers, nannies and mobile office suites.
This summer, New York City‘s Liberty Church is launching their first “pop-up church” in Montauk. The church‘s website says they are gathering a Liberty community to serve congregants who vacation in Montauk and The Hamptons.
“We’re excited about this opportunity to reach new people, many of whom live in NYC but spend their summer weekends here,” the Liberty Church site explains. “Right now we’re gathering a team made up of those who make the pilgrimage already. Also, if you have a house out there and you’re willing to lend a hand in some way, we’d love to hear from you.”
The new pop-up will hold services on Sunday mornings, beginning on Memorial Day weekend and wrapping on Labor Day weekend. Venues and full details are still to be decided.
Liberty Church, which has locations in SoHo and Union Square, may be the first Manhattan house of worship to open an East End venue specifically designed to serve Hamptons summer residents. If you know of others, please leave us a comment below and tell us all about it!
