Kate Upton Accepts High School Prom Date

Hamptons visitor and 2x Sports Illustrated cover girl Kate Upton could give one Los Angeles funnyman the prom of his dreams. Undeterred by his single life as prom season got into full swing, high schooler Jake Davidson created a YouTube video asking Upton to prom.

Tweets to friends, news authorities and a few select celebs helped to spread the word. His request to call the supermodel “Katie” instead Kate was finally heard, and Upton retweeted the video yesterday, responding, “You can call me Katie if you want! How could I turn down that video! I’ll check my schedule ;)” to which Jake replied “‪@KateUpton you truly are incredible. Just responding made my year, thanks so much! P.S. Hope your schedule is free!”

Jake appeared on the Today Show this morning, and Upton surprised him with a call in, confirming that she’d “love to go.”

The phenomenon of asking celebs out via YouTube seems to be more effective than we would think. Perhaps we begin using this tactic to court some of our long-distance friends to this side of the country… Jimmy Kimmel? Sandra Bullock? Betty White? Taylor Swift? We’re coming for you!
