SJP Blames Cheap Shoes for Foot Damage

Sarah Jessica Parker‘s name, or at least her most famous onscreen character’s name, has become synonymous with the very best and most expensive shoes in the world, but last week the Hamptons actress admitted that wearing heels has done serious damage to her feet.
In opposition to her Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw, SJP told Net-a-Porter.com that she started wearing cheap heels for a role in I Don’t Know How She Does It, and they caused her twist an ankle. Upon visiting a doctor for that injury, Parker learned that years of wearing dramatic heels literally caused her feet to change shape.
“I went to a foot doctor and he said, ‘Your foot does things it shouldn’t be able to do. That bone there… You’ve created that bone. It doesn’t belong there,” she told Net-a-Porter, adding, “It’s sad, because my feet took me all over the world, but eventually they were like, ‘You know what, we are really tired, can you just stop—and don’t put cheap shoes on us?'”
Looking back on her love affair with sexy heels, SJP said, “For 10 or so years, I literally ran in heels. I worked 18-hour days and never took them off. I wore beautiful shoes, some better made than others, and never complained.” It appears Parker‘s abused feet have sneakers, and only the occasional Manolo Blahnik, in their future.
