The Cuddy Replaces Phao in Sag Harbor

Restaurateur Jeff Resnik confirmed this week that he will be opening a new American comfort food joint called “The Cuddy” in place of his closed-one-year-open-the-next Thai operation Phao at 29 Main Street in Sag Harbor.
The restaurant will serve three hots a day, year round, and is designed to feel “rustic, warm and cozy,” matching the comfort of its food, Resnik explained on Friday. He is completely renovating the interior to appear lighter and brighter, with lots of barn wood and special bark on the walls.
Resnik acknowledged that opening a year round, three-meal-a-day restaurant on the East End is “very difficult to do,” but he feels it’s the right move for the space.
Diners should expect The Cuddy to be open by the end of March, but it will take a little time to begin serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
