10 Things to Do This Weekend in the Hamptons
Well it’s finally here, the best St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the world will take place this Sunday in Montauk. But before you head out to the end of the Island for some green beer and loud music, what will you do in between? How about getting a little live entertainment? Or perhaps some outdoor fun on the Peconic River? There is plenty to do in the Hamptons and the North Fork before Sunday. Here are a just a few options.

Jewelry Making Classes with Eric Messin

Pelletreau Silver Shop, 80 Main Street, Southampton
Students will learn the basics of jewelry making, from sculpting wax and soldering to setting stones and polishing, over an eight-week course. Master Jeweler Eric Messin will take you step by step to create a piece of jewelry that will be finished and ready to be worn. These classes take place at the historic Pelletreau Silver Shop in Southampton Village. The fee, which includes supplies, is $365 for members and $385 for non-members. Montauk’s St Patrick’s Day Parade

The Montauk St. Patrick’s Day Parade, organized by the Montauk Friends of Erin, is among the best in the world. Parade Grand Marshal Jack Perna, Superintendent and Principal at the Montauk School, leads floats, marchers, bands and revelers down Main Street while hundreds cheer and celebrate. There will be lots of Irish eyes at this event. Don’t miss it!
“The Rain Garden” with Mark Cappellino at Bridge Gardens

The Peconic Land Trust welcomes Mark Cappellino as the second speaker in their fourth annual “Conversations With…” series. Mark, an educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension for more than 18 years, will discuss the polluting impacts of rainwater runoff on our bays and drinking water, and present information on designing and creating “rain gardens” in the home landscape. $15, free to members of Bridge Gardens.
