Lindsay Lohan Summers in the Hamptons—at Rehab

Actress Lindsay Lohan will be spending her summer in the Hamptons, but her main purpose won’t be to enjoy the sun, sand and surf this time around. The 26-year-old star told David Letterman last night that she’ll be checking into rehab on May 2, and it’s now been widely reported that she’s staying at Seafield Center in Westhampton Beach for 90 days as part of a plea agreement for lying to police.
“I think this is an opportunity for me to focus on what I love in life,” Lohan told Letterman, noting that she’s happiest when working. “I don’t think it’s a bad thing,” she added. “I think it’s a blessing.”
Let’s hope Seafield helps her return to work soon.
Seafield Center has been treating persons suffering from alcoholism and chemical dependency since 1985. Lohan will likely be staying within the 90-bed inpatient rehabilitation program for patients ages 16 and older. It follows an integrated clinical and medical model with an emphasis on the principals and traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, and individualized treatment plans. The facility also offers a women’s program and acupuncture therapy.
Patients are allowed limited phone use and mail may be sent and received, but Lohan won’t be permitted to have a cell phone, iPod, radio or television. She also won’t be allowed to wear tank tops or hats, according to the rehab‘s rules.
Seafield is limited to 28 days of care, but they appear to be making an exception for Lohan‘s planned 90-day stay. At $4,025 per week and tons of publicity, who could blame them?
