A Pet Adoption Expo, an event not to be missed on Saturday April 6, 2013 at The Riverhead Polish Hall, 214 Marcy Avenue, from 11 a.m–3 p.m. Together with six other not-for-profit animal shelters, The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF) is hoping to adopt more than 100 kittens, puppies, dogs and cats into new homes, while also adding happiness to their new owners’ lives.
Did you know that owning a pet increases individual happiness by improving mental health and well-being? According to a 2012 survey done by a Columbia University think tank, the Earth Institute, mental health and well-being are key factors in determining happiness. Most pet owners rave about the joy their furry friends bring into their lives. Who doesn’t want to be happier?
ARF’s Executive Director, Sara Davison, says this will be a day of one-stop shopping for all your new pet’s needs, and all pets are ready to go, having been spayed/neutered and vaccinated to their age limit and checked by a veterinarian.Young and old alike will delight in adopting a new furry member of their family and ensure that their lives become happier. Don’t miss this event! Admission is free.
