Stephen Colbert Sends Bill Clinton's First Tweet

Hamptons regular and soon to be homeowner Bill Clinton is officially on Twitter, thanks to Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert, and he picked up 40,000 followers overnight.
Colbert aired an interview with the former president in place of his regular Colbert Report program on Monday. During the conversation, which was taped at the annual Clinton Global Initiative University meeting over the weekend, Clinton admitted to using Facebook, but said he had not yet tried Twitter.
Unfotunately, Colbert noted that Twitter ID “PresidentClinton was taken” and “WilliamJeffersonClinton was taken,” but PrezBillyJeff was available.” He continued, “Would you like to break into the 21st century right now and send your first tweet?”
Always a good sport, Clinton dictated his historic debut tweet:
Sir, welcome to the future!
