Fisherman Dies in Hampton Bays, Coast Guard Is Investigating

One crewmember is reported deceased, and one crewmember was rescued when their commercial fishing vessel capsized in Shinnecock Inlet yesterday.
Southampton Town Police stated in a press release that Stian Stiansen, 85 of East Quogue died in the accident and second crewmember Scott Finne, 42, of Eastport survived.
At approximately 2 p.m. a Coast Guard Station Shinnecock communications watchstander was notified by Southampton Police dispatch that the 45-foot trawler, Pauline, capsized. Sector Long Island Sound communications watchstander issued an urgent marine information broadcast and launched a response boatcrew from Station Shinnecock.
Rescue crews from Station Shinnecock, Southhampton Marine Unit, Suffolk County Police Helicopter Rescue and SeaTow responded.
The cause of the maritime accident is under investigation.
