Katie Couric Interviews Howard Stern on "Katie"

Southampton resident Howard Stern chatted with East Hampton’s Katie Couric on her daytime talk show Katie last week. The pair discussed Stern’s career, his many neuroses and his relationship with Beth Ostrosky, his wife of 13 years.

In a typical move for Stern, he turned the interview on Couric and got her to reveal that fellow Hamptonite Matt Lauer was considered as a cohost for her daytime show. Couric also denied ever sleeping with Lauer. “I love Matt, but we really do have a brother-sister type relationship,” Couric said.

Stern has returned as a judge on this season of America’s Got Talent on NBC. The shock jock is joined by Howie Mandel and new judges this season Mel B, formerly Scary Spice in the Spice Girls, and supermodel and television host Heidi Klum. The season premiered on Tuesday, June 4 and Episode 2 airs Tuesday at 9 p.m.
