Jennifer Lopez and Lionel Richie Join Nile Rodgers' Chic in UK Concert
Water Mill resident Jennifer Lopez and pop icon Lionel Richie (who was banned from playing in the Hamptons on July 4, 2008) will be joining AFTEE Dance Party organizer and hit maker Nile Rodgers on the main stage of Britain’s July 14 “Heart in the Park” concert, the first Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park.
Richie will close the show and Lopez will perform as a headline act, playing on The Great Oak Stage, during the final day of this new concert event. The party will kick off on the main stage with British girl group Stooshe and continues with the return of Eliza Doolittle.
But before Lopez and Richie take the stage, Rodgers, who collaborated with Daft Punk on this summer’s hit song “Get Lucky,” will appear fronting his seminal dance and disco group, Chic. Don’t worry, if you miss the show, Rodgers, Chic and a host of top DJs will be getting the crowd moving at AFTEE’s first annual Dance Party–East End on August 19, from 6–10 p.m., at Martha Clara in Riverhead.
