“Summer Nights” By Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey from Grease

This song, written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey for the soundtrack of Grease,has been recorded and performed by many actors on screen and stage, but the recording featuring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John (as Danny Zuco and Sandy Olsson) is it’s most famous. It became a huge hit single in 1978.

“Summer Nights” tells the story of Danny and Sandy’s summertime romance, which concluded when Sandy was supposed to return to Australia. But she ends up staying in town and attending Rydell High School alongside Danny, who leads a gang of greasers called the T Birds. It quickly becomes apparent that the two still share feelings for each other. Billboard ranked the song Number 9 in its”Best Summer Songs of All Time” list in 2010.
