Songs from St. Somewhere, the first new studio album from Jimmy Buffett since 2009’s Buffet Hotel, dropped this week, but fans who were lucky enough to be at the Stephen Talkhouse last week got a preview in the set Buffett played as the opening act for Tom Curren—not a bad way to warm up for his Tuesday and Thursday shows at Jones Beach this week. Fans were treated to this set list:
“Piece of Work” “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitude” “Grapefruit Juicy Fruit” “Pencil Thin Mustache” “Boat Drinks” “Son of a Son of a Sailor” “Little Martha” “The City” “Come Monday” “Southern Cross” “A Pirate Looks at Forty” “Oldest Surfer on the Beach” “Margaritaville”“Oldest Surfer on the Beach” is one of the sand-and-surf-inspired songs off Songs from St. Somewhere, which, word has it, Buffett will play in its entirety at a December show in Hawaii, where he will also perform a fan-submitted set list.
