Painters' Restaurant to Reopen This Season

Painters’ Restaurant, a popular dining and arts space, will reopen this fall after being shuttered for more than a year due to a fire.
Located in Brookhaven hamlet, just outside of Bellport Village, Painters’ was damaged on April 30, 2012 when a fire broke out and the restaurant has remained closed since.
A statement on Painters’ website says, “The fire was confined to the second floor office and there was minimal damage (some smoke and water) to the restaurant. All of the art is perfectly fine …”
On the restaurant’s Facebook profile Wednesday, a rep wrote, “Looking to re-open later this fall.” The news was immediately met with delight from fans, some who are already looking for book dinner and music events.
Painters’ mixed food with art and music to great effect. The tablecloths were brown paper, and children and adults alike enjoyed making drawings as they dined. The tables and booths were works of art themselves, and all of the paintings and mixed media art on the walls was for sale. The restaurant hosted exhibitions and the bar area was a destination for relaxing and enjoying live music by local talent.
Painters’ is located at 416 South Country Road, Brookhaven.
