The East Hampton Town Board is holding two public hearings Thursday concerning parking of commercial vehicles in residential zones.
One amendment on the table would prohibit overnight street parking of commercial vehicles, while a second piece of legislation would limit parking of commercial vehicles in a residential zone to two vehicles with a gross weight of 14,000 each.
Town Board members have not been able to come to agreement yet over options for how to restrict vehicles, such as weights, lengths, the number of vehicles and property size. A board majority chose to schedule hearings to get community feedback and hear concerns.
