Gourd Thieves Make Off With 600 Pumpkins

A Baiting Hollow farmer told police Tuesday that sometime overnight 600 pumpkins went missing from a Sound Avenue pumpkin patch.

Riverhead Town police said Rottkamp’s Fox Hollow Farm reported the theft at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Rottkamp’s opens its U-Pick pumpkin patch during the month of October.

The 600 missing pumpkins are valued at $4,200, police said.
