Local Hero Mary Ann Tupper Lauded at Schmidt's

Mary Ann Tupper, the executive director of Human Resources of the Hamptons, was picked as the second Local Hero to be honored with a large portrait hung outside at Schmidt’s Market in Southampton Village and with a sandwich named for her.

The portrait is by Jennifer Meihoffer of Spirit Catcher Studio, a local photographer and the wife of Schmidt’s Market owner Dennis Schmidt. Meihoffer undertook the Local Heroes project to honor Southampton residents and integral members of the community who give much of their time and sweat to others.

Human Resources of the Hamptons provides clothing, food, heating assistance, medical appointment transportation, and other assistance to local people in need.
