Southold’s Ella Watts-Gorman to Star in NBC's 'Sound of Music' with Carrie Underwood

Ella Watts-Gorman, a North Fork teenager and student at Bishop McGann-Mercy High School, is slated to co-star in The Sound of Music alongside Carrie Underwood, Stephen Moyer, Laura Benanti and Christian Borle.
Watts-Gorman has been cast in the role of Louisa for NBC’s live three-hour telecast of the musical, airing December 5 at 8 p.m. Underwood will be Maria von Trapp.
Watts-Gorman’s theater credits include the title role in Annie at Riverhead High School, and roles in Kiss Me Kate, The Wizard of Oz and Thoroughly Modern Millie.
