Some Cars Are Just Not Meant for Driving on the Beach

A BMW became stuck in the sand on a Southampton Village beach Thursday afternoon–the kind of incident that has become fodder for Facebook groups like Idiot Spotter of East Hampton.

A Jeep with a winch pulled the BMW out of a rut so it could make its way off the beach to pavement again. Pavement is a sedan’s friend. Sand is not.

Let this be a lesson to the rest of us: Sedans and beaches don’t mix.
