Ambulance Call Leads to Drug Arrest

When Southampton Village police were called to North Sea Road to assist Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance on January 4, officers came across a man smoking a joint laced with cocaine, according to authorities.
Police said that around noon 40-year-old Charles Bowens Jr., who was found to have more marijuana and cocaine, was arrested and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, plus fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Bowens was remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverside.
