Jodie Foster in Riverhead Directing 'Orange Is the New Black' Right Now

Filmmaker and Academy Award winning actress Jodie Foster is in downtown Riverhead Friday morning filming a scene for the second season of the Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black.
Many locals were cast as extras for Orange Is the New Black‘s visit to the East End. The scene this morning takes place in front of the Suffolk Theater and is set in 1993. A crowd is lined up to see Dazed and Confused and parked on the streets are ’80s and early ’90s cars with the old New York license plates with the Statue of Liberty.
Foster also directed one episode of the show’s first season, titled “Lesbian Request Denied.”
Stars of the series such as Taylor Schilling, Laura Prepon and Jason Biggs have yet to be spotted.
Orange Is the New Black Season 2 will begin airing on Netflix later this year, most likely over the summer.
