Revenge’s Karine Vanasse, who plays French magazine maven Margaux LeMarchal, will be sticking around the faux Hamptons. The actress has been upped to series regular status for Season 4 — pending the show’s renewal.
Vanasse joined the Revenge cast this season as one of the first new characters created by new showrunner Sunil Nayar and she has appeared in most episodes since her introduction. Over the course of the last 12 episodes, Margaux has unsuccessfully tried to seduce Daniel Grayson (Josh Bowman), started a relationship with Jack Porter (Nick Wechsler) and uncovered several of Conrad Grayson’s (Henry Czerny) darkest secrets.
While Revenge has suffered in the ratings this season, the show is on a creative upswing following its subpar sophomore run, with the first half of Season 3 focusing on the mystery of who shot Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp). Other characters introduced this season include Victoria Grayson’s (Madeleine Stowe) mysterious long-lost son, Patrick Osbourne, played by Justin Hartley; Daniel’s ex-girlfriend and first love Sara Munello, played by Annabelle Stephenson; Niko Takeda, the daughter of Emily’s late mentor, played by Stephanie Jacobsen; and the return of presumed dead Lydia Davis, once again played by Amber Valletta. This Sunday’s episode will reportedly feature the introductions of Conrad’s first wife, played by NYPD Blue star Gail O’Grady, as well as Lost’s Brett Cullen as Patrick’s biological father.
Due to its low ratings, the series will move to ABC’s Sunday 10 p.m. timeslot on March 9. Coincidentally, both Vanasse and VanCamp previously appeared on ABC shows in this timeslot—Vanasse starred in the short-lived period drama Pan Am and VanCamp played a major role in family drama Brothers & Sisters.
