Sir Ivan's Castle Featured on Discovery Channel
The Hamptons’ most eccentric philanthropist, recording artist and superhero Sir Ivan (also known as Peaceman, Mr. Mitzvah and Ivan Wilzig) recently shared a video featuring his palatial Water Mill home, which aired on Discovery TV’s Destination America Epic Castles in late October. The show has been out for some time, but Sir Ivan’s Castle is always worth another look.
The gigantic home representing a Medieval Fortress sits on five acres deep in the Water Mill woods, yet it still boasts gorgeous rooftop views of the bay. Before even heading inside, the castle grounds feature tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, pool and hot tub, water features and an expansive and comfortable outdoor party area—all of it painted in gold.
In the house itself, Sir Ivan, his brother Alan Wilzig, sister in-law Karen Wilzig and “patient” builder Mark Jones created an adult fun house with themed fantasy guest rooms and secret door-accessible master suite, along with numerous richly decorated and colorful living and party rooms — complete with suits of armor, shields and weaponry — and, of course, a large dungeon for after-hours fun!
Sir Ivan’s Castle is a sight to behold, and the story of its creation is just as amazing.
And the best part — the Wilzig brothers bought the property for a tenth of what it’s worth today, so the entire project came in under $5 million.
