Beth Stern Hosts Inaugural Kitten Bowl
Excitement surrounding Super Bowl day hype isn’t all about the Broncos and Seahawks. This year, Hallmark Channel brings us the first-ever Kitten Bowl on Super Bowl Sunday, and it has some local flavor as Beth Ostrosky Stern—East End animal rights supporter and national spokesperson for North Shore Animal League America—will be hosting the action alongside New York Yankees radio voice John Sterling, who’ll be giving us the play-by-play.
Kicking off at 12 p.m. and replaying after, the Kitten Bowl (in association with North Shore Animal League America, the nation’s largest no-kill shelter and animal adoption organization) will raise awareness of the plight of shelter animals across the country as 71 adorable kitten athletes—all of whom have been adopted—go back-to-back and belly-to-belly at Kitten Stadium in the biggest feline showdown in history.
Stern and Sterling will be joined by today’s biggest names including Nicky Hilton, Regis Philbin, Hoda Kotb, Rachael Ray, Lisa Vanderpump, Renée Herlocker, Rocco DiSpirito, Kelly Rutherford, Chuck Nice, Julian Starks, Bob Harper, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Carrie Ann Inaba, Aiden Turner and Kristen Aldridge. All will show their fondness for felines with their appearances during television’s premiere paw-to-paw tomcat tourney. Game on!
