Southampton Police Charge Two with Gang Assault

Southampton Town police and U.S. Marshals have arrested two people they say are responsible for an assault at a Speonk home back in December.
According to police, around 6:30 p.m. on December 19, 2013, officers responded to a 911 call reporting a possible burglary. Police said they found that a resident was struck with a baseball bat and beaten by multiple people. The next day, 36-year-old Tina Duffy of Brentwood was arrested and charged with first-degree gang assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.
Then on January 30, the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force helped arrest 28-year-old Andrew Stricklin, of Wyandanch, on the same charges.
Detective Sergeant Lisa Costa said the investigation is ongoing as police search for others, and further details of the incident will not be released at this time. She noted that the term “gang assault” does not mean gang activity. In refers to an attack by a group of three or more people.
